SchoolsSports

SchoolsSports is a UK-based website through which UAE-based schools are increasingly able to participate in local and overseas competitions.  Made up primarily of UK public schools (private in UAE terms), it offers competitions covering Cricket, Football, Hockey, Netball and Rugby. Their systems and software are used to support the ADISSA and DASSA leagues in the UAE.

Member schools can request fixtures on-line, enabling them to set up potential tours both at home and overseas. The 24 members in Dubai – including the familiar Dubai College, Jumeirah College, Dubai English Speaking College, Jumeirah English Speaking School, Repton and Dubai British School are the top-ranked among the Dubai-based schools. A further 9 schools in Abu Dhabi  led by BSAK, BISAD, Cambridge High School, Cranleigh and GEMS American Academy – in addition to  Sharjah English School and RAK Academy – also participate.

The various leagues and conferences mentioned above are all essentially operated by their participants. However, in recent years, there has been greater interest from external organisations to sponsor competitive school sports activities.

The major players and school participants are detailed on the following pages.
