ADISSA

The Abu Dhabi School Sports Association was established “To provide season based sports competition and activity events in a well-chaperoned environment for students of international schools in Abu Dhabi.”  Members include Abu Dhabi Grammar School, American Community School, Al Muna Academy, Al Bateen Academy, Al Yasmina Academy, American International School , The British International School Abu Dhabi (BISAD), Brighton College, The British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) , The Cambridge High School, Canadian International School, Cranleigh , GEMS American Academy , Pearl Academy and Raha International School .

Sports originally offered via ADISSA include Basketball, Cricket, Football, Netball, Rugby and Swimming. However, since 2016, much of ADISSA sports has been merged with the DASSA league, based in Dubai, thus becoming a UAE wide programme. This enables schools across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah to participate.

Basketball matches are arranged via the DASSA league in Dubai.  Cricket – through a small league for Under 12 cricket – is arranged via ADISSA, but the majority of schools participate in the UAE Xchange Abu Dhabi Schools League operated via Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

Football remains one of the most vibrant leagues organised by ADISSA with 164 teams participating in over 1,000 fixtures. Netball also attracts 76 teams to  418 matches though all data related to these sports are held on the DASSA website.
