With a very strong influence from the sub-continent in both CBSE and UK curriculum schools, this competition is one that clearly appeals to these traditional international cricketing nations.

Expectations were high that Cambridge High School, which had won the Senior competition 5 times in a row from 2011, would again walk away with the trophy. However, they were without their 2015 captain, Yodhin Punja, who is the youngest player to have represented the UAE (at age 16), in the 1st class and List 1 games. Yodhin was awarded a cricket scholarship to Claremont School in the UK and was not therefore able to lead the team in 2016. Cambridge High School boasts two further UAE team cricketers currently.

Winning teams in 2016 were:

League Winner Runner Up
U-12 Bright Riders School Cambridge High School
U-14 Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School Abu Dhabi Indian School
U-16 Emirates Future International Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School
U-19 Abu Dhabi Indian School Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Pakistan School also left the tournament with trophies for the Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament in addition to Best Batman and Best Bowler.
