GCSE Results: Spectacular GCSE and Value Added scores at Jebel Ali School

by Tabitha BardaAugust 24, 2023

Jebel Ali School is celebrating some excellent GCSE results, with 41% of all grades an impressive 8 or 9. However, the Value Added score is of particular note, with students achieving at an incredible 1.2 grades per subject above their externally validated GCSE targets. (VA +1.2).

Value Added scores are an especially meaningful metric, as they measure the extent to which a student has progressed from their original flight path, illustrating the extent to which a school has helped and ‘added value’ to that student’s original trajectory.

Jebel Ali School is one of the only schools we have seen that is celebrating its students specifically for their Value Added score – a crucially important metric to praise, since it cuts right to the heart of what schools are designed to do. See more on the importance of Value Added here.

Simon Jodrell – Principal of Jebel Ali School said:

“We are thrilled to announce an excellent set of GCSE results this year at Jebel Ali School. I would like to congratulate our Year 11 students and their teachers for their efforts and continued positivity.

“Once again, we are enthralled to see such an amazing set of outcomes for our GCSE cohort. This outstanding set of results comes as no surprise, but we are equally proud of the value added figures for each student.
