The award-winning, KHDA Outstanding, Dubai English Speaking College has announced the spectacular results achieved by its BTEC and A Level students – and the Tier 1 destinations of DESC students to top universities globally including Oxbridge.
A delighted Chris Vizzard, Headteacher, Dubai English Speaking College, speaking with SchoolsCompared.com, began by celebrating DESC’s exceptional students
“Congratulations to all students who received their A-level and BTEC results today.
“We take immense pride in each and every one of them, acknowledging the unwavering determination, strong character, and dedicated work ethic that they have consistently demonstrated throughout their studies at the College.
“As they embark on the forthcoming phase of their journey, we extend our best wishes to them all. Additionally, immeasurable gratitude goes out to our parental body, who have provided steadfast support to their children throughout the examination period.”
Mr Vizzard continued by highlighting the unease felt across the sector by the decision of the UK government to so rapidly force the return to 2019 grade boundaries:
“This year’s highly publicised ‘return to normal’ in terms of A Level grades has sparked a degree of unease regarding the resulting outcomes and their potential impact on students and their prospects for higher education.
Given this unique context, our students have showcased exceptional fortitude and admirable character, yielding excellent results.”
In this context, Mr Vizzard justifiably expressed his admiration for students:
“Consequently, it brings us immense pleasure to share that a great many of our students have already secured firm offers from great institutions such as Oxford, LSE, Kings College, Imperial, Nottingham, Bath, Lancaster, and Liverpool.”
Finally, Mr Vizzard confirmed the school’s commitment to the care of all of its students:
“Our support remains readily available today, tomorrow, and throughout the next week to offer guidance and assistance to any students seeking advice regarding their university choices.”
