Student voices

Esra Belhimer, Graduating Student of GEMS FirstPoint School, told SchoolsCompared:

With the biggest smile on my face, I’m shouting out a massive thanks to GEMS FirstPoint School!

“I rocked my A-levels with A*, A*, A, and A, and now I’m off to Manchester University to study Biotechnology.

“None of this would have happened without my amazing teachers and the super tight-knit community at FPS. Back when I started, I was this mix of excited and nervous, but the school really helped me break out of my shell! The teachers are like mentors who push you to go beyond what you thought possible.

“”FPS isn’t just a school; it’s my family.

I can only be hopeful that my next step in Manchester will be as positive as this one!”

Dylan Morrison-Story, Graduating Student, GEMS FirstPoint School Dubai, told SchoolsCompared:

“I’m happy with the results that I got.

Taking two new courses that I hadn’t studied before was a challenge. I didn’t know what to expect.

Thankfully, with the help of the staff at FPS, I was able to secure grades that I am very proud of.”

Mr Morrison-Story has been with GEMS FirstPoint for many years. His family relocated to another country at the end of Key Stage 4. As a result, his family organised his own visa and the school enrolled him on the Rahhal programme. Dylan engaged in distance learning through Microsoft Teams, and attended in-person when possible. The school continued: “Earning a B in Business, a Distinction in BTEC Creative Media and a Distinction in BTEC ESports, Dylan’s grades were… phenomenal.”

Reem Sharaf, Graduating Student, GEMS FirstPoint School Dubai, told us:

“I feel very proud of my results and how much I have achieved in the last two years. I improved not only in my studies, but also as a person. I am very grateful for the support that my teachers gave me. They helped me achieve these grades.

“Thank you!”

GEMS FirstPoint School told us:

“Miss Sharaf overcame a number of personal and academic barriers during her A-level journey and attained truly outstanding results. The value added to her academic achievements, including an A* in Fine Art and A in Photography,  has been remarkable.”
