2637 students attending CBSE curriculum schools across the entire GEMS Education network of every one of its 10 CBSE Indian curriculum schools in the UAE have achieved “beyond outstanding” results in their Grade 10 Board exams. A perfect 100% pass rate was achieved by students across all GEMS Education CBSE schools.

Two in every 100 students scored above 90% in the Grade 10 CBSE examinations, four in every 100 students achieved between 85% and 90%, 6 in every 100 students scored above 60% – and the overall average achieved by GEMS Education students is an extraordinary  80.98%.

The results sparkle in comparison with an overall global CBSE pass rate of 93.12%, this down from 2022’s pass rate of 99.5% but higher than 2019’s (pre-pandemic) pass rate of 91.1%.

Dr Saima Rana, Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education/CEO & Principal, GEMS World Academy announcing the achievement of all students in GEMS CBSE schools across the UAE

Dr Saima Rana, Chief Education Officer, GEMS Education, said:

“We are thrilled to congratulate all our students on their remarkable CBSE results this year.

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers, staff, and students, as well as the unwavering support of parents.

It is also a reflection of the aspirational and outward-looking provision of all our Indian curriculum schools.

Achievement

Whilst GEMS Education asked us specifically to ensure that we celebrated every single one of its students, there were standout, hugely creditable achievements from:

  • Kirti Roshankumar Thakar of GEMS Our Own English High School – Dubai with a score of 99.6%;
  • Devangana Aneesh of GEMS Our Own English High School – Sharjah, Girls with a score of 98.2%;
  • Shiveta Jithesh of GEMS United Indian School – Abu Dhabi with a score of 98%; and,
  • Amnah Azad of GEMS Our Own English High School – Sharjah, Boys with a score of 98%.

Ms Kirti Roshankumar Thakar (pictured) of GEMS Our Own English High School Dubai  was the overall GEMS “topper” with a near-perfect score of 99.6%. Ms Roshankumar Thakar explained her feelings to us:

“It honestly took me a lot of time to realise that I had topped the school! It’s always been my dream to ace the exams, and now, with my dream manifested, my joy knows no bounds!

I shall always be grateful to my parents for their unwavering support and unconditional love.

Being the school topper is not solely a result of my efforts; it is testament to the collaborative environment we have fostered in our school. A great deal of credit goes to my teachers and supervisors, who gave the right direction to my efforts and helped me shape my dreams into reality.

I am truly humbled and honoured to have earned this wonderful achievement.”

The CBSE examinations board, we think rightly, has chosen to no longer publish the names of toppers, in part to recognise, as GEMS, the achievements of all students. Every student, as adult in life, faces very different personal circumstances, and achievement is much better understood in the context of each child’s own personal journey. Every single student deserves our praise and celebration – each has their own story to tell. It is just practically impossible for us to write an article recognising more than 2600 GEMS CBSE students by name, much as we would truly wish to.

On that note, many congratulations from SchoolsCompared.com to all Grade 10 students in GEMS Education schools, and across all CBSE schools in the UAE this year – you are each terrific, inspirational and, simply, “Wow!”
