Our View.  The Best Schools For Art, Music And Performing Arts in the UAE.

The 2021 SchoolsCompared.com Guide for Parents 2021.

Covid 19 has damaged the cultural life of nations and schools. 2021 brings much needed hope ...

The quality of education available to children across the UAE in Music, Fine Art, Pottery, Design, Sculpture and the very broadest definition of the Performing and Creative Arts is extraordinary. Each of the schools we have listed here beyond-excels in one or more ways for their students – and in one or more of the Creative Arts.

The promise of an outstanding Arts education at any one of these schools is a given.

Dubai College perhaps reflects best the impetus of all the schools here in so powerfully recognising that the Creative Arts cannot ever be seen as an add-on to a top tier education. They must be absolutely integral to it.

More and more, we see outstanding schools standing out by their commitment to, and serious investment in, embedding education across Arts disciplines into their core curriculums – and with as much, if not more, passion and significance as traditional academic subjects.

The result has seen students from the UAE being represented at the majority of the most prestigious Universities and specialist graduate colleges in the Arts worldwide.

Each of these outstanding schools are deservedly shortlisted for the SchoolsCompared.com Top Schools Awards.

Finally, we think it is worth noting the Urdang International partnership with Kent College. Renowned in the UK for providing an exceptional Performing Arts education for more than 50 years, Urdang International’s new partnership with Kent College Dubai has seen the launch of a distinct BTEC International Extended Diploma in the Performing Arts – Musical Theatre and Dance.  The aim is to bring to Kent students, training steeped in London’s West End theatre, and this for the first time in the UAE. The full-time BTEC course launched in September 2020.

Covid 19 placed significant pressures on our schools, students and families. These pressures, understandably with the stresses of social distancing, were felt particularly keenly in the Performing Arts.

In 2023, the damage wrought by the Covid pandemic seems a world away. Today our top performing schools in Music and the Performing Arts once again shine a light on the world class endeavours of UAE students and schools. It is something to behold and be exceptionally proud of.
