GEMS International School – Al Khail (GIS) students shared their excitement and joy today – not only at receiving a raft of stellar results, but also because they can now enjoy the summer safe in the knowledge that the IB has prepared them as well as possible for the challenge of starting university.

GIS student Nourhan Mohamed Ibrahim, who achieved an impressive 42 points in the IBDP, explains:

“Despite being incredibly challenging, the last two years have allowed me to develop crucial transferable life skills and gain a wealth of contemporary knowledge that can be applied in a real-world context. My GIS family of teachers and coordinators has been instrumental in guiding me on this journey to achieve a result that I am proud of – not just in terms of overall IB points but also through producing university-level work and preparing me for my future endeavours.”

The well-known rigour of the IB curriculum is the perfect springboard from which to go on to bigger and better challenges, says Burcu Keser, DP Coordinator at GIS, who is certain that their students will make their mark on the world:

“We are thrilled to extend our congratulations to the Class of 2023 on their achievements in conquering their IB assessments and results. Their determination, dedication, tireless efforts, and perseverance have paid off and led them to have these remarkable accomplishments. We are so proud of our students, and we cannot wait to witness how they will shape the world with their unique, inspiring talents and passions. We wish them the best of luck in the next chapter of their lives!”

Meanwhile Simon Herbert, Head of School/CEO, GEMS International School – Al Khail, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all of the GIS students for their enormous efforts:

“I am delighted to see the success of our DP and CP candidates, who have worked so hard through their two-year programmes. These results exemplify the hard work of the students and teachers, and the support from their families. Thanks to the environment at GIS and their dedication, these students leave with a love of learning and resilience, which will benefit them hugely as they enter the next stage of their lives, at some of the most illustrious establishments around the world. I send my sincere congratulations to all!”

“The teachers and coordinators at GIS played an immeasurable role in guiding students through the last two years. GIS has provided me and my peers with multiple opportunities to grow not just academically but personally as well. Additionally, the school gave us the ability and support to contribute to our communities and interact with multiple groups in ways that aligned with our personal interests. Having engaged myself with these activities, I can confidently say how this culture of starting and taking part in student projects has fostered so many aspects of the IB Learner Profile that we are constantly reminded of in classes.
