There’s an amazing new book club in town – this time, with a twist! Community group Parents United UAE is launching the region’s first ever Parents & Kids Book Club, designed for UAE families who love reading and understand the importance of stories for bonding, learning and child development.

Powered by and, the Parents United UAE Parents & Kids Book Club is kicking off with an exciting launch event on Wednesday 20 September from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at Dubai Festival Plaza (Jebel Ali).

Join us for a fabulous morning of coffee, chats, competitions and fun activities, as parents and their little ones come together to unlock the powerful magic of stories.

There will be literary talks, storytime sessions, kids’ entertainment, and 50 lucky guests are guaranteed to walk away with Dh100 gift voucher to spend in Dubai Festival Plaza! Plus, Booktopia is giving away a stupendous book hamper worth more than Dh500!

Parents are welcome to come alone or to bring their children – there will be plenty to enjoy, whether you’re coming to meet other mums and dads, get some amazing advice from our experts, or to simply have a literary-themed playdate with other likeminded families.

This month’s theme is “Character Building With Stories” and we will be discussing a range of children’s books that are perfect for nurturing positive character traits such as confidence, kindness, empathy and resilience in our children. There’s no need to read the books in advance – they will be available to browse through on the day, and experts will be on hand to guide you to similar books that are suitable for children and young people of all ages.

Storytime sessions and Tips for Reading At Home from GEMS International Al Khail School

Kim Conlin, Primary Principal at GEMS International Al Khail School will be sharing some super helpful tips on how to encourage a passion for literature in children from even the youngest age. And our littler guests will be entertained by a delightful Storytime Session from the wonderful GEMS International Al Khail School team.

Insights from Author and Wellbeing Coach from The Free Spirit Collective:

Delve into the world of character strengths with our guest expert, Ashley Green, a Wellbeing Coach from the Free Spirit Collective and author of the ‘Emobeans’ series of boojs. Learn about practical approaches to identifying and nurturing positive traits in children, helping them build resilience, confidence, and emotional intelligence.
