“For some parents, making the decision to send their child to nursery, opposed to school, can be a tricky one to make.
At IDEA ELC we firmly believe that early childhood education is a journey. Childhood is precious and we value the time we allow children to spend being ‘children’.
In all aspects of their little worlds, children are, sometimes outside of parent’s control, exposed to things beyond their years, so we believe that where possible, we should control this exposure to allow them to be ‘children’.
There are many benefits to IDEA ELC for children.
We have the time and the space to indulge each child’s interests without the demands of a [...]
“I am extremely proud of our achievements here at Foremarke. Our pastoral care not only aims to prepare our pupils for any challenge they may face in their future but also shapes them into true Foremarkians; children with common sense, who are aspirational and respectful and most importantly, children who will enjoy their education. Our unique small class sizes set us above all other academic institutions in Dubai, allowing for a truly tailored approach for each child. Additionally, children benefit from specialist teaching from Nursery up to Year 6 and this approach is reflected in our latest academic achievements, which has put us well above international standards in all areas of [...]

The International School of Creative Science [ISCS] is a new Arabic-American dual curriculum faith school launching Phase 1 of its provision in Nad Al Sheba 3. The school is situated in the prime education corridor between Kings School Nad Al Sheba and Repton School on a circa 11-acre site.
The school has been established with the single aim of balancing the best of Western education, and its currency for later university and career development, with the protection, appreciation and nurturing of Muslim and broader Arabic culture, language, faith and morality within its role. It’s an East meets West equation that is far from simple to resolve and [...]

The American School of Creative Science [ASCS] is a new Arabic-American dual curriculum school launching Phase 1 of its provision in Al Barsha South. Location information can be found here. Its position is almost immediately adjacent to GEMS World Academy on a very large 11 acre campus.
The first phase is planned to reach completion with 39 classrooms educating around 1100 students in Grades FS1 to Year 5 between the ages of 4 and 12 years. Eventually the school will offer a full FS all-through education to Year 12. ASCS is one of three new schools at various phases of launch in the Emirate, these building on the model first established by its [...]
MAE will offer something very, very special for Dubai and the Emirates when it opens in September this year. The school is now open to pre-register children from the age of 8 to graduation. Founding students and parents, in a school so centred on individual children, will play a formative role is establishing the school’s direction, culture and success.
Founded to fill the existing gap in high quality education between mainstream schools and special needs centres, Modern Alternative Education is a new school that we all have a stake in supporting, this despite the fact that it has been designed, ground up for children with Special Educational Needs – and more [...]
Located in Dubai Investments Park, The International School of Choueifat -DIP is the second SABIS® school in Dubai. Our review of the original school can be found here.
Making the decision to Choose a SABIS® school for the education of their child(ren), we believe, should be a considered one, for prospective parents.
There are qualities to a SABIS® education that will draw some parents. But, equally, SABIS® schools have an educational ethos, methodology and approach to each child’s education and development that is not comparable to any other educational curricular option facing parents.
SABIS® school represent an alternative to mainstream education, not a choice [...]

Manor Park Primary is a new, FS to Year 6 British English National Curriculum Primary school for girls and boys between the ages of 4 and 11. This has, however, absolutely not been your standard new school launch – and there is a bigger picture.
Up front – what will make this school the first choice for many parents is scale and size. This is a genuinely small school – and it will, even after growing again to full capcity, never exceed its maximum role of 440 children. FS streams are capped at 40 children in each year, and in Years 1 – 6 the total year streams are capped at 60 children. Many schools claim to offer small [...]
Smart Vision School is located in the heart of Al Barsha 2 – and, as a new school, Vision stands out for being a school that actually exists in nearly complete form. Prospective parents can actually visit the school – and not have to depend on off- plan drawings in making decisions for the future of their child(ren)’s education.
The English National Curriculum school is now open to applications for places between FS1 to Year 4 starting in September 2016. Phased launch of future grades to Year 13 will follow. Eventually all-through provision will take students through complete all-through British education from the Early Year Foundation Stage (EYFS) to IGCSE and A [...]

GEMS Founders School(GFS) was established as an international UK curriculum school in September 2016, promising a “reasonably priced world-class education” meeting “the high standard of education that GEMS Education embodies.”
Founders offers an all-through English National Curriculum to IGCSE and A Level for students from FS1 to Year 13, between 3 and 19 years.
In build, GEMS advised us, and our sister site, whichschooladvisor, that Founders was being modeled on its family of Winchester schools. This, however, we felt in practice, told us little as the “Winchester” brand covers a multitude of very different schools from the fabulous, [...]

Reach British School is a new (2014) all through FS to Year 10 (equivalent) English National Curriculum school offering phased launch provision through to IGCSE for children between 3 and 16 years of age. Prospective parents should note that the school, somewhat confusingly, works through Nursery, KG1 and 2 to Year 12 rather than using the standard UK school progression from FS1 and 2 to Year 13. We are advised that this is at the insistence of ADEC. The end result is, however, the same. As a school in phased launch, Sixth Form provision (Years 12 and 13) is not due to open until 2020 and is currently not confirmed. The school is currently operational [...]

GEMS FirstPoint is a very interesting school in a multitude of areas – and it is also, importantly, a very good one. So what sets it apart. There are two defining features that standout and which we believe will be of particular interest to prospective parents.
First, with FirstPoint, GEMS has set up a Tier 1 premium British School, but set the fees, deliberately, at the very lowest level of the fee structures we typically associate with this class of schools. The following graphic is taken from its own marketing literature:
When you average the fees over thirteen years, the school offers a considerable value proposition for [...]

One of very few WhichSchoolAdvisor.com “Good Schools” (its highest award), and an ADEC A3 High Performing Good School with Outstanding Features, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is a school in phased launch offering an all-through, British-founded, education from FS to Year 13. Cranleigh Abu Dhabi is, for us, a school that that has been quite extraordinarily successful in meeting the ambition, almost vocation, of its Founding Headmaster, Brendan Law, to create an education for children that begins and ends with each child’s personal journey. It is hard to think of another school in the Emirates that has so successfully, and inspirationally, drawn on and captured [...]
Al Ain International School is quite extraordinary: It is an exceptionally good school by any standards, but it achieves this in ways that you have to experience to really appreciate just what has been achieved for children – and what they achieve for each other, their community and the school.
This is one of those schools that is resolutely not about numbers.
Our sister site, WhichSchoolAdvisor.com, has long campaigned for schools to calculate “value-added”, in simple terms, what a school achieves with its children from where they start on entering a school. Many schools will advertise themselves on the basis of stellar examination results – but this is less of an [...]
Ajman Academy, also known as Ajman International Academy, is in phased launch to provide an all-through hybrid International Baccalaureate/ English National Curriculum FS – Year 13 education for students between the ages of 3 and 18 years. The school, established in 2012, provides a mixed, co-educational education for its students.
Ajman launches through provision to IGCSE from 2016-17 with full FS – Year 6 schooling having been securely bedded in over the first four years of its phased launch programme. International A Level provision will follow from 2018. The school has grown steadily from its founding intake in 2012 of 130 students to its current 750-strong [...]
Dovecote Green Primary is a primary, FS to Year 6 British, selective preparatory slipstream school for Repton Dubai offering an English National Curriculum based education for children aged between 3 and 11 years.
Before discussing the school in detail it is worth noting at the outset that Dovecote provides the single most affordable in-house direct route to Repton Dubai from Year 7. The alternative preparatory, Foremarke School, has KHDA approved fees of 90,000, although current “founders fees” are less (65000-85000 AED per annum). Studying with Repton itself in Dubai between FS and Year 6 requires fees between 50,379 AED at FS1 through to 64,011 AED in Year [...]
New sister school to the Safa (British) School in Al Quoz, and originally named the Safa British Academy, Safa Community School is an all through British School currently offering English National Curriculum based provision from FS1 to Year 8, with Years 9 – 12 opening in phased launch from 2016-18.
The school welcomes children of all nationalities, and aims to be engaging and genuinely inclusive. There is a buzz about the school – and a lovely, warm atmosphere.
The design of the school is a plus. Safa shines a light on the importance of school design in creating an environment in schools that in its own right inspires children to excel. Buildings matter – and Safa is [...]

Credence High School is a new Indian all through school undergoing phased FS to Grade 12 launch. The school will follow the CBSE curriculum from Year 9.
The school aims, however, to radically differentiate itself from other Indian schools in the Gulf by replacing the standard CBSE curriculum to Year 8 with a curriculum provided by a relatively young start-up, XSEED, based in Singapore and founded by Ashish Rajpal, an MIT educated Indian entrepreneur.
The basic approach is to tackle one widely held critique of Indian education – that it teaches facts by rote with little relevance to the skills required later in life, with a model of education [...]
