Our next set of UAE A Level results comes from top-performing secondary school, Dubai College.

And despite the many pandemic challenges facing them, the 2022 cohort of Dubai College A Level students have managed to achieve the highest success rate in externally marked exams since the year 2013.

The cohort of 122 students at Dubai College entering for the A Level qualification achieved the following results:

A*: 34.9%

A*A: 70.1%

A*B: 90.8%

A*C: 98.5%

The pass rate was 100 %

What are Dubai College students doing after they leave school?

  • Once again, Dubai College’s most popular destination is the University of Exeter with 7 students heading there, followed by Cambridge, Loughborough and UCL (5 students each).
  • Outside the UK, the most popular destination for Dubai College students is the University of Toronto (4 students), Amsterdam, Brown, Columbia and UCLA (3 students each).
  • In total, 6 of Dubai College’s students are heading to Oxbridge and 9 to Ivy League schools.
  • Around 70% of school leavers are going on to study courses relating to STEM, whereas the remaining 30% are studying humanities or law.
  • 18 students achieved a full house of A* grades, 8 of whom doing so in four full A Level subjects; a staggering achievement.
  • Although applications to the UK still dominate, it has been interesting to note a small rise in the number of students heading to the US, Canada and the EU.

Mr Bobby Trivic, Head of Sixth Form, told SchoolsCompared:

“We are immensely proud of our students from Dubai College for achieving this set of results after a couple of years of setbacks and restrictions.

“Let us not forget that this group of students has limited experience of sitting public examinations owing to their cancellation in recent years.

“This has also been one of the most competitive years for admission to US and UK universities in more than a decade.

“Despite this, Dubai College students have achieved an A or an A* grade in over 70% of all A Level qualifications, our highest success rate in externally marked examinations since 2013.

“18 of our students achieved a full house of A* grades, 8 of whom doing so in four full A Level subjects.

“These staggering achievements are testament to the students’ talent, resilience and industry; this, along with their engagement with our local and global communities, has enabled them to gain admissions to their top choice courses across the globe.

“We wish them every success with their next personal and academic ventures.”
