UAE School Holidays 2023: How to find your school’s academic calendar online
0

Want to find out the dates for UAE School Holidays 2023? Although certain vacation dates are set by the UAE Ministry of Education and cannot be changed, there is some leeway for schools to choose their own dates for staff training days and holidays such as half term and Spring Break. This means that all UAE school calendars vary, and your child’s precise academic calendar will be unique to their individual school.

Want to find your child’s academic calendar easily and at any time in just a couple of clicks? The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) this year launched a service on its website where every school’s individual academic calendar has been uploaded for the whole of the academic year 2023. Here’s what you need to know…

How to access your UAE school calendar through the KHDA website

  • Visit the KHDA Education Directory here.
  • Type the name of your child’s school in the ‘School Name’ box under the ‘Find Schools’ heading.
  • Click ‘Apply Filter’
  • Select the ‘Academic Calendar’ tab to reveal your child’s individual school calendar for the whole of next year.

The results will show the start and end date of the academic year, as well as the dates for Winter Break, Spring Break and the Summer Break.

It will also show half-terms, if your school has these, under the category ‘Other School Holidays’, as well as any teacher training days and predicted public holidays.

Because the public holidays are in line with Islamic holidays (and thus dependent on a lunar calendar that is determined by moon sightings), any dates given in advance are tentative and subject to government declarations closer to the time.
