Giles Pruett to Lead Arcadia School Dubai from September 2020

Giles Pruett has been confirmed as the new Principal of Arcadia School and will join the Arcadia School from September 2020.

He will move from GEMS World Academy Dubai where he has been Deputy Head of School leading Senior school secondary provision for four years since February 2016.

Prior to this Mr Pruett worked as Vice Principal of GEMS Jumeirah College after more than thirteen years in the UK working as Day and Boarding Master, and Head of Rugby, at the UK independent Prior Park – the HMC (Headmasters’ and Headmistresses Conference) 11 – 18 day and boarding school in Bath.

At GEMS he led the school’s quality assurance for teaching and learning leveraging expertise developed from his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Management (Bath, 2006 – 2012).

During almost a decade with GEMS, Mr Pruett played a key role in:

  • helping steer  curriculum Jumeirah College to four consecutive KHDA ‘Outstanding’ review judgements
  • taking GEMS World Academy to the highest rating of any full IB school in Dubai.

Mr Pruett is an educator by training, securing his first degree from De Montford specialising in the fields of Geography and Sports Science in Secondary education and teaching.

He was the First XV Rugby Captain during university and the aim is that Arcadia will evolve to build a formidable reputation in the “beautiful game”.

Mr Pruett holds full Council of International Schools (CIS) Lead Evaluator accreditation, expertise that will fuel the Arcadia School drive for Outstanding school status.
