Background: All Change at Dubai College
Dubai College [DC] has announced the appointment of Tomas Duckling as its new head, effective January 2025. Mr Duckling is set to replace Michael Lambert, who departs the school for the UK and the role of Global Education Director at the Inspired Education Group. Mr Lambert will continue to serve as Dubai College Headmaster until December 2024.
Dubai College: The Search for Talent
Mr Duckling’s appointment comes after an extensive global search for talent. Students, staff, and the Dubai College Board are said to have been won over by his positive and outgoing attitude, along with his “evident drive and commitment” to the continued success of Dubai College (DC).

From Switzerland to Dubai (College)
Mr Duckling is currently Deputy Head at Aiglon College, an exclusive, international boarding school in Switzerland. He will bring with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in educational leadership.
Interestingly, much of Mr Duckling’s experience has been garnered whilst delivering the International Baccalaureate programme, rather than the British curriculum, which is currently in favour at Dubai College. Such a track record in IB will surely lead parents and commentators to wonder whether this new appointment will herald a new and more ‘international’ direction for curriculum offering at Dubai College?
A representative from the DC school Board commented:
“Tomas Duckling’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Dubai College.
“We believe his leadership will further strengthen our institution’s reputation for excellence in education.”
In addition to his new role at Dubai College, Tomas Duckling will also join the ranks of prominent educational organisations such as HMC (The Heads’ Conference), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), BSME (British Schools in the Middle East), ISC Research, and Metanoia.
Mr Duckling’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for DC, as it continues to redevelop its campus and works to retain on to its status as one of the most successful schools in the UAE, in the face of continued competition from many new, prestigious school openings, such as Harrow International School.
