The Emirates Astronomy Society has indicated the likely dates for the forthcoming Eid al Adha celebrations. Schools are now gearing up for the Eid holidays in Dubai.

A Combined Celebration: Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha

This year, students, parents, and teachers have been awaiting confirmation of the official days off for Arafat Day and Eid al Adha. These two public holidays will come together as one break from school, marking the final holidays of the 2023-24 academic year.

When is Arafat Day in 2024?

Arafat Day will fall on Dhul Hijjah 9, which is expected to be either Saturday, June 15, or Sunday, June 16, depending on the sighting of the moon.

When is Eid al-Adha in 2024?

Eid al-Adha falls on Dhul Hijjah 10 to 12, expected to be either Sunday, June 16, or Monday, June 17, again depending on the sighting of the moon.

How Many Days Off Will Schools Have?

Given these dates, students in the Dubai can anticipate either two or three days off from school. Schools are expected to close from Monday, June 17, providing a welcome mid-year break.
