Below is the official entry form for the Top Schools Award for Best Primary School in the United Arab Emirates 2023-24, our award recognising the most outstanding Primary School in the region and its positive impact on the lives of children.

This award recognises a school that is more than the sum of its parts – one whose extraordinary elements; teachers; school leadership, children, parents, owner, governors and its supportive wider community, together create a beacon for what an education for young children, at its absolute best, can be.

Dedicated primary schools are a lifeline for many children and families, promising to protect children from the inevitably different environment of all-through schools. At their best they provide a world for children that both protects childhood, and nurtures the gifts and skills eventually needed for the transition to ‘big’ school. Often dedicated Primary schools will enjoy close relationships with some of the most outstanding all-through schools in Dubai, and these graduating slipstream schools can be chosen based on the gifts, needs, potential, fit and ambitions of children as they move through their Primary years.

For this Award, we are looking then for a school that delivers for every child, and exceptionally. It is a school that inspires children with a love for learning, but one that recognises each child has a different journey to celebrate. It is a school that sparkles with imagination and ambition for children with a warmth that engenders fierce loyalty from its teaching faculty and the adoration of children and parents alike.

Parents, teachers, governors and students – we want to hear from you! If you believe that your school is extraordinary and has made a profoundly positive and inspirational impact on its children, please contact us with your answer to the following. “I would like to nominate X school [name of school] because …. ” Please email us at [email protected]. This year, the Top Schools Awards are celebrating outstanding achievement in our schools with a particular focus on how schools inspire children by linking all subject areas to bring the extraordinary wonders of the Arts, creativity, imagination – and freedom to experiment and innovate, into all areas of the curriculum including, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.[/caption]

We believe, passionately, that the Arts are absolutely fundamental to delivering an outstanding education for every child, one focused on the whole child and the gifts all children have to change the world for the better and make the difference – every day, and in the future. The Arts bring STEM to life.

Rocket Girl – the Arts and Sciences, together, brought to life

In November 2023, members of the TSA Space and Rocket programme completed first phase testing of the Imagination^TMpowered Jet Pack specially manufactured for this year’s STEAM focused Awards. We visited a number of the region’s most outstanding schools. We are particularly grateful for the assistance of the extraordinary and accredited Rocket Pilot and Space Girl Naisha from GEMS Dubai American Academy(pictured) for her considerable, and quite, totally, awesome, bravery and kindness in completing Year 6 rocket pack inaugural flight testing.
