Do you have a passionate filmmaker in your midst? Their shooting skills could bag them the life-changing prize of free Dubai school fees throughout their whole academic career in the UAE.

In celebration of January, the International Month of Creativity, popular UAE entertainment destination Global Village has partnered with Bloom World Academy (BWA) to gift two talented young people full, lifetime scholarships worth potentially in excess of AED 1 million.

The lifetime scholarship will offer 100% fee remission of published school fees at Bloom World Academy for the duration of time the child is enrolled at the school. Bloom World Academy, which launched in August 2022, was the first UAE school to have an official start-time of 9:00 am as well as flexible hours to support families. The IB-curriculum school also offers both a personalised and customised curriculum for each child, where they are able design their own timetable with Personal Pathways. We rank the school an outstanding one.

John Bell, Principal at Bloom World Academy, said:

“Bloom World Academy is a truly unique school that genuinely embraces differences. We promise to nurture every aspect of potential through innovation and excellence and this belief is what has fuelled this wonderful partnership with Global Village. Through this competition, we hope to inspire young people in the UAE to think outside the box, dig deep into their imaginations to get creative and flourish through hands-on experiences. Our future lies in the hands of our young people and I can’t wait to see the ideas they submit and the projects they are already working on to build a more positive future for us all.”

What do you need to do to win free Dubai school fees?

Children aged between 5 and 14 years are invited to send in a short video created by them, which fits the competition’s theme of “My more wonderful world”. Whether the video features the filmmaker themselves, or a friend, teacher, or family member, the brief is that it must tell the story of what they, or someone they know, would do (or is doing) to make positive impact (big or small) and make the world a better place.

How it works

The competition is divided into two age group entry categories; Juniors (aged between 5 – 10 years of age) and Seniors (aged between 11 – 14 years of age). The  judging panel includes:

  • Saeed Aljanahi, Director of Operations at Dubai Film & TV Commission;
  • John Bell, Principal, Bloom World Academy; and,
  • and Emirati Director Nahla Al Fahad

Judges will review the entries and choose the shortlisted finalists in each age category. All finalists will be invited to experience their very own red-carpet-inspired premiere, where their films will be shown to thousands of Global Village guests at the Kids’ Theatre stage. One lucky winner will be selected from each category and announced as the winners of the Bloom World Academy scholarships worth over Dh1 million.

January is International Month of Creativity, so celebrating the creativity of the talented young people living in the UAE was a natural fit. There could be no better partner for our first edition of Creators Month than Bloom World Academy who share our passion for creative thinking. We are so excited to see how this country’s youth will inspire us all to contribute to creating a more wonderful world.”
