Uptown International School Dubai

Uptown International School IB results 2022

Rob Commons, Principal, Uptown International School, celebrating the achievements of students for IB Results Day 2022, told SchoolsCompared:

“Uptown International School is extremely proud of the achievements of Grade 12 this year. This is a cohort that has not allowed the pandemic to distract them from their studies. Their commitment throughout their school journey, and especially the last two years, has been exemplary. They deserve immense credit for their efforts.

With an average point score of 34.4 and a high score of 44 points, our UIS students continue to demonstrate excellence. This year’s results represent a significant improvement compared to the 2019 cohort (the last time students sat formal IB Diploma examinations), with an increased percentage of students scoring above each key benchmark. One quarter of this year’s cohort achieved over 40 points, with four out of every five students achieving greater than 30 points. This reaffirms the calibre of both our students and their teachers.”

Rob Commons, Principal of Uptown International School in Dubai, is a powerful evangelist of the IB from its early years programmes in the PYP through to the MYP and International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Mr Commons continues:

“At Uptown International School we have a magnificent campus with wonderful facilities. We have a world-class curriculum with the genuine ambition of changing lives and changing the world in which we live. We have an inspirational and truly education centred parent company in Taaleem, committed to the UAE National Agenda.

However, what makes Uptown International School, a genuinely special place is our students. They are risk takers who understand that they learn from their mistakes and know that through perseverance and resilience they can achieve their dreams.

This, of course, does not happen by accident. By offering three programmes of the International Baccalaureate, – the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP), – we provide a seamless educational experience to students from age three to eighteen.

We wish our Grade 12 graduates the very best of luck as they move on to leading universities across the globe next academic year.”

Taaleem IB Results Day 2022 Raha International School student celebrates achivement

Mario Pineiro joined Raha 8 years ago from his primary education in Spain, with limited English and a drive to succeed. Today Mr Pineiro celebrates with his outstanding achievement of 44 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

“Congratulations to Mario Gonzalez Pineiro on achieving 44 points.  Mario has been a student at Raha International School for 8 years since he moved from Spain to the UAE with limited English. His consistently impressive academic performance and formidable drive to succeed has culminated in a fantastic set of results.

Mario was awarded the Azzam Award for demonstrating his understanding of what it means to be a Raha student by taking action in helping so many people across the world, from Spain to Malawi. His phrase ‘In many places, being a third culture child is an exception, however, at Raha International School, it is the norm. In fact, the spirit of internationalism flourishes with Raha’s diversity’. We are proud that Mario’s story is one of true success.

Mario will be going to the Netherlands to study Aerospace Engineering. As one of our highest scoring alumni, we hope that Mario will visit Raha in the future to share his experiences of higher education with our future graduates.”
