The KHDA have confirmed the following:
“Our condolences on the passing of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid.
He brought thousands of students together in friendship, harmony and mutual respect – may he Rest In Peace and God rest his Soul.
Private schools in Dubai will remain open Thursday.”
The announcement of the KHDA follows the sad news that Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE’s Minister of Finance and Industry, has died at the age of just 75 years.
Sheikh Hamdan was the second son of Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum who passed away in 1990 after ruling the emirate since 1958.
The news was announced by his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The tragic news will be followed by 10 days of mourning to recognise the extraordinary impact of, and love for, a member of the royal family who played such a central role in the lives of the adoring UAE people, and whose influence stretched around the world.
All of us at SchoolsCompared.com and our sister site WhichSchoolAdvisor.com have formally expressed our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and the UAE people.
