Kent College Dubai GCSE results 2022: “Our students’ grades are excellent, but just one part of their rich and fully rounded education”
The talented students at Kent College Dubai have achieved excellent GCSE results this year, with 95% of entrant gaining 5 or more 9-4 (A* to C) grades and exceptional progress being made by pupils across the year group.
With a new numerical grading system and more rigorous standards established at GCSEs, pupils performed very strongly; over 60% of grades awarded to the largest ever cohort of Year 11 pupils at KCD were 9-6, the equivalent A*, A and B+ grades using the old grading system.
Head of Seniors, Mr. Tim Hollis said:
“I would like to congratulate all pupils on their excellent GCSE results this year. Amongst many areas of success, we are particularly pleased to see the exceptionally strong results in History, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Drama and PE.”
“Additionally, with over 65% of pupils achieving a 9-6 grade in English and over 70% doing so in Mathematics, our multinational cohort, with many pupils learning in at least their 2nd language, should be exceptionally proud of their achievements.”
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank their teachers and other staff who have taught and supported students so effectively, and also parents who play a key role in supporting and encouraging students throughout their school lives.”
Mr. Anthony Cashin, Principal at KCD, also added:
“Although today we are, of course, focusing upon celebrating our pupils’ GCSE results, it is important to remember that KCD students gain a fully rounded education with exceptional numbers completing the International Award (Duke of Edinburgh) and also regularly engaging in a rich and healthy variety of artistic, academic and sporting activities.”
“Our commitment to developing our pupils’ character, values, grit and determination, alongside a sense of community and responsibility shows that we honour our mission statement ‘to develop happy pupils, in an engaging, enabling and empowering environment, based on traditional core values in pursuit of career readiness and excellence’.”
“With integrity, tolerance and respect; values that are treasured and epitomised within the community, KCD pupils have exceptionally bright futures ahead.”
