GCSE Results Day 2024: GEMS Founders School Dubai Students celebrated by Adoring Parents as Highest Grades Jump by a Quarter

GEMS Founders School Dubai, the KHDA ranked Very Good School with Outstanding Features, is also a beacon school for Inclusion for which it is ranked Outstanding. The school is also judged Very Good for Wellbeing and this cascades through to a school praised for the happiness of its children, young men and young women. It is against this background that 2024 has proven such a successful year for GCSE. This cohort of students it must be remembered too were in the heart of the storm as the Covid pandemic sept through the UAE with all its impacts on children. Total entries for GCSE were up by a quarter over last year, and the percentage of candidates achieving the top 8-9 (A*) grades went up by around 26%… a fantastic achievement for a school deeply committed to its welcome to students of all the talents and leaving no child behind.

GEMS Education asked SchoolsCompared.com to thank, recognise and celebrate every single child in the GCSE ‘Class of 2024] – their achievement, dedication and contribution to school life has been exceptional.

However, the following students are particular stand-out and the school asked for us to especially celebrate their achievements and journeys.

First, Neha’s journey through secondary school is a testament to her remarkable perseverance and time management. Despite the challenges of preparing for her IGCSE exams, she successfully balanced her academic responsibilities with her passion for tennis, consistently attending lessons at CF Tennis Academy throughout her schooling. In addition to her academic and athletic commitments, Neha also completed internships at renowned organisations, including Bayut and Dubizzle, further enhancing her skill set and experience. GEMS Founders School Dubai told us:

“Neha’s ability to excel in academics, whilst also actively engaging in sports and professional development, showcases her exceptional dedication and drive for success.”

Second, Nitya’s success in her Geography IGCSE is a reflection of her outstanding dedication and commitment to her studies. Her teacher praised her remarkable self-study habits and active engagement in lessons, which were key to her academic excellence. Beyond the classroom, Nitya balanced her studies with significant extracurricular involvement, including a prominent role in the Model United Nations (MUN) throughout the year. GEMS Founders School Dubai told us:

“Nitya’s leadership and dedication culminated in a major contribution to the school’s end-of-year TEDx event, showcasing her ability to excel academically while making a meaningful and very memorable impact on her school community.”

Third, Faheem has truly excelled during his KS4 journey, consistently setting and maintaining an exemplary standard of work. His ability to balance his academic responsibilities with his role as his form group’s class representative speaks to his strong leadership and dedication. What was clear potential and promise unfurled into pending success with his resounding mock grade results through Key Stage 4.

Faheem Shaheen, Graduating Year 11 Student of the GCSE Class of 2024 at GEMS Founders School Dubai, told SchoolsCompared.com that his heart is set on becoming a doctor and making a difference in the world:

“”I honestly didn’t believe I’d get this far.

“I’d like to thank the incredible teachers and peers who supported me.

“No matter what setbacks came, I persevered and enjoyed the experience.

“I’m planning to study Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology at A-level as I’m looking at a future in Medicine.”

Responding, Ms Shaheen, Faheem’s parent, told us:

“I’m very happy.

“Faheem worked hard and has been independent all along. I’ve had no hand in this!

“He balances his studies with free time and organises himself well – I think he’s a casual learner.”

Joyneel Bepari, Graduating Year 11 Student of the GCSE Class of 2024 at GEMS Founders School Dubai, explained:

“When I knew Results Day was approaching, I couldn’t think of anything but my results.

“I didn’t expect them to take me this far.

“I sincerely thank my teachers and parents, who pushed me to overcome obstacles and face this exam head-on.”
