- The warmth of your hug, Assures me I’ll find a new pal, Assures me I’ll love my new teacher, And I will be liked by all.

- So hug me once more. Kiss me once more. Hold me tight. Promise me I’ll be alright.

- When you speak, I listen, And then I smile a bit. Your gentle words calm me down, And I know I can do it.

- I am excited, and a tad nervous, So thank you for holding my hand. And just for being there with me today, Thank you mom and dad.

- And when I said I was tired, You knew it was a sweet lie. Yet you picked me up and held me close, Before you whispered a sweet good bye.

- Cause before you know, I’ll be thirteen and on my own. I’ll love you more, but need you less, Mom, dad, I would have grown!
