by Tabitha BardaNovember 25, 2021

Meet Santa, decorate gingerbread houses and enjoy wonderful winter crafts at Victory Heights Primary School (VHPS) as the fabulous Festival of Schools turns Xmas for the event this Saturday 27 November.

As one of the UAE’s earliest festive social events of the season, it’s your first chance to get the kids really excited about Christmas, at what is set to be an action-packed, bumper bonanza of a day.

A flurry of festive fun

Gingerbread house decorating is one of the festive activities on offer

There will be everything your family needs to have a fantastically fun time – you can expect bouncy castles, face painting, magic shows, soft play area, a merry winter market, sports activities and displays, a food court, carol singing, live DJ sets, oodles of arts and crafts, and of course the chance to decorate gingerbread houses and meet Santa himself at the school’s cosy festive grotto!

It’s also a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Victory Heights Primary’s beautiful school grounds, and engage with the community through some wonderful free workshops, student dance performances, and by browsing the stalls of local artisans selling their handmade creations.

Devised under the Festival of Schools theme ‘Our Planet, Our Future’, the event will also feature a sustainable photo booth, eco-themed talks, and workshops linked to local sustainability programmes, such as sessions on sewing, mending and repurposing old clothes.

Your passport to presents

Children will even get the chance to meet a special visitor from the North Pole!

Filling up the Festival of Schools Passport (received on arrival at the event) has been one of the biggest sources of excitement for children at all the Which Media Festival of Schools events in Dubai so far.

This week will be no different – the Victory Heights Primary School team has created a range of brilliant, seasonally-themed activities for children to complete, in return for a stamp in their Festival passport. Fill up your passport with enough stamps for your chance to win prizes!

The activities include making Christmas ornaments, putting your dream in a jar, feeding the snow man, Christmas card making, save the earth workshop (painting), a scavenger hunt, engineering challenge and more.

As the fourth and final event in this season of Which Media’s series of Festival of Schools events, this one looks as if it could be the best one yet, with longer running hours from 9am until 3pm, and a flurry of awesome, crowd-pleasing activities.

Don’t miss your chance to book a spot – last week’s Festival at Arcadia School had SOLD OUT days before the event, so the time to book your space is NOW.

Tickets are free, as are most of the amazing activities, but they’re going fast.
