The second in a pioneering series of live events exploring the future of education and employment for students in the UAE will be broadcast live on Zoom at 8:00pm on 24th February 2021.
Open to all parents, older students and educators, the free event is being run in association with The Royal Grammar School Guildford in Dubai, the new Tier 1 British curriculum school opening in Dubai in September 2021.
The aim is to explore the future of employment for students graduating from UAE schools and the ways that they can adjust for careers that, in many cases, simply do not exist today.

The Host – Royal Grammar School Guildford in Dubai
In September, The Royal Grammar School Guildford in Dubai will bring 500 years of academic innovation to the United Arab Emirates, with a powerful focus on developing the confidence and empowerment of RGS students in whichever path they choose for their future careers. This includes development of “a mindset for leadership, a deep understanding of wellbeing and a strong sense of global citizenship so that they can be a positive influence on themselves, others and the wider world.”
The Royal Grammar School Guildford Dubai Speaker Series is a platform for discussion, debate and sharing best practice.
Partnering with some of the most inspiring and successful individuals and organisations in their field, the aim is to give all parents, students and educators an insight into the spectrum of individual visions for the future of education and industry.
The Speakers
Co-founder of the future-directed UAE co-working hub, Letswork, the 25-year-old Omar Al Mheiri graduated in 2017 from Northeastern University, Boston with a degree in electrical engineering. Mr Al Mheiri was selected for the E25 entrepreneurship program at EMAAR, where he launched Letswork with his co-founder, Hamza Khan.
Mr Al Mheiri is a contributing member of the Private Sector Youth Council in the UAE.
Clare Turnbull, Head of Prep, RGS Guildford Dubai.
With over 20 years of educational leadership roles, Clare Turnbull has direct senior leadership experience from Royal Grammar School Guildford in the U. Ms Turnbull was a key member of the senior leadership team at RGS UK for 16 years, 13 of which were as the Head of the Preparatory School.
A graduate of the University of Exeter, with a Masters in Educational Leadership (Distinction), Ms Turnbull has been a governor of three independent schools in the UK and is an experienced ISI Schools’ Inspector.
Ms Turnbull was appointed as the Head of Prep at RGS Guildford Dubai to ensure the seamless transfer of the UK home school’s tradition of academic excellence, distinctive culture, values and learning habits.
The Moderator – Helen Farmer, Editor and Journalist, The Mothership.
A BBC-trained broadcast journalist and mum of two young daughters, Helen Farmer juggles a career in broadcasting and blogging whilst cleaning cereal off the ceiling. She has worked in publishing and radio in Dubai for more than a decade, and is an award-winning journalist, known for her honest take on living, working and parenting, through her blog The Mothership.
