The school’s Principal, David Baldwin, shines with integrity, clarity of vision, absolute openness about the strengths and weaknesses of his school – and his inspiring and steadfast ambition for the children under his care. This is a school that has and is undergoing many changes – and to the frustration of its parents does not have the capacity to open as an all-through school.
Horizon may not have the bells and whistles of other schools – but the happiness of its children; the outstanding quality of teaching; their value added performance (remember this is an inclusive school) and the passion of all those who have fed back to us leaves us in no doubt that this school should make the short list of all parents seeking a stand-alone primary school in Dubai.
This, for some, will be a controversial verdict for our award of a Best Schools in Dubai and Abu Dhabi award for 2017, but we stand by it. This is an exceptional Primary school by any standards and one that we expect to regain an Outstanding KHDA rating in the very short term.
